Summer rain!

Its a bit drizzly today but this type of weather is perfect for making porcelain and I’m busy getting ready for open studios. I’ve been making lots of mugs, jugs and vases and salad bowls in the hope that the weather picks up and we can all be eating outside and filling our houses with jugs of flowers!
My studio will be open each full weekend in July 11-6 and I’m running some throwing lessons and a silver bangle making workshop so come along and say hello! Book online here www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/rachel-dormor-ceramics

I’m running lessons on the potters wheel for four people at a time on selected days but other times are available so get in touch.

Over at the gallery we have the beautiful Coastal Living show on until the end of July. The gallery is open everyday and we have a gorgeous range of handmade things to tempt you from cards to prints, paintings by Jo Tunmer, lightweight lambswool scarves and wraps by Gabrielle Vary, machine embroidery and bunting by Suzanne Hurst, driftwood sculptures of boats and beach huts by Andy Povey, tea towels by Alison Hullyer; brooches, tea towels, notebooks and cups by Alice Shields; wooden bowls by Edmund Rose, silver jewellery by Birgitte Bruun, silver and semi-precious stone jewellery by Bek Genery, porcelain beach hut and boat inspired porcelain cufflinks, earrings and jewellery by Phiona Richards and Sam Robinson and of course, my ceramics. You can also sign up for classes and pick up an open studios guide, and if you are really lucky you might see the baby alpacas over on the Burwash Farm, they are very fluffy!
