Its a bit drizzly today but this type of weather is perfect for making porcelain and I’m busy getting ready for open studios. I’m running lessons on the potters wheel for four people at a time on selected days but other times are available so get in touch.

Over at the gallery we have the beautiful Coastal Living show on until the end of July. The gallery is open everyday and we have a gorgeous range of handmade things to tempt you from cards to prints, paintings by Jo Tunmer, lightweight lambswool scarves and wraps by Gabrielle Vary, machine embroidery and bunting by Suzanne Hurst, driftwood sculptures of boats and beach huts by Andy Povey, tea towels by Alison Hullyer; brooches, tea towels, notebooks and cups by Alice Shields; wooden bowls by Edmund Rose, silver jewellery by Birgitte Bruun, silver and semi-precious stone jewellery by Bek Genery, porcelain beach hut and boat inspired porcelain cufflinks, earrings and jewellery by Phiona Richards and Sam Robinson and of course, my ceramics. Autumn again!

Where does the time go? I can’t believe its 25 years since I joined a pottery evening class at my school but ceramics is the thread that holds my life together and since that first moment on the potter’s wheel, I’ve been hooked.

It’s not easy running a creative business at the best of times but I am lucky enough to meet and work with all sorts of amazing, interesting and talented people and you all keep me going. Sometimes its good to look back and see how far you’ve come and so many times I feel like I am still at the beginning.

This week I’m delighted to have an exhibition starting in Hay-on-Wye at the Haymakers Gallery and I’m also showing at Burwash Art at Burwash Manor Farm in Cambridgeshire. Comins Tea House are showing their British Made teaware at the Best Of Brittania Show in Clerkenwell, London at the beginning of October and I am thrilled to be making some new pieces for their new collection. I’m also working on some really lovely new things for the Country Living Spring Fair in London next March!

Evening classes start again on Monday 15th September and there are a couple of spaces and I’m delighted that Jayne Clough will be running the Thursday day time ceramics class which starts on September 18th 10-12noon. Please email me if you would like to join! info
